Write-In Candidate for Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney
Callan Martinez was born and raised in a community much like Douglas County, where hard work, family, and community matter.
Her family roots run deep in the traditions of military service, farming, and ranching. Both of her grandfathers served in the military, one as a Navy Ensign and the other as an Army Master Sergeant stationed in Japan during World War II. Her grandparents came from mining and farming communities and grew up in large families of ten and eleven children. Her family’s connection to agriculture continues today, from a great-uncle who spent his life raising pigs to a cousin who currently works as a cattle rancher.
Callan decided to become a prosecutor while attending college, after interning at a prosecutor’s office and assisting with a murder case. A young man had been killed by two of his friends, leaving a community deeply affected by the tragedy. Seeing how the case brought accountability and helped the community find justice solidified her commitment to public service through prosecution.
As a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Douglas County, Callan has handled serious criminal cases and worked closely with law enforcement to protect the community. She successfully prosecuted the individual responsible for killing the gentleman on the side of Highway 97. She also worked side-by-side with law enforcement in the Chelan Hills Fire investigation, helping execute more than 50 warrants and secure an arrest warrant for the suspects.
Callan brings broad legal experience to the position, including civil litigation, criminal litigation, and appellate work. She has argued cases in both trial and appellate courts, giving her experience with the legal system at multiple levels.
As Prosecuting Attorney, Callan’s priorities are clear: prosecuting violent and repeat offenders, protecting children by pursuing crimes committed against them, and prosecuting drug-related crimes. She believes public safety requires experienced leadership, strong partnerships with law enforcement, and accountability for those who harm others.
Callan’s experience as a varsity high school and college athlete helped shape her determination, perseverance for success.
Callan loves living in Douglas County and is committed to helping make the community an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. She is running for Prosecuting Attorney because she believes every resident deserves a safe community and a prosecutor dedicated to protecting the people who call Douglas County home.
